While overseeing a prison transfer with Peter at The Raft, a vengeful Miles fails to stop the Hunters from capturing Martin Li, who previously killed his father, Jefferson Davis. Investigating Kraven, Peter discovers he is hunting super-powered individuals in search of an “equal”. Having already killed Scorpion, Vulture, Shocker, and Electro, Kraven attempts to capture Black Cat. However, Miles helps her escape to Paris by using the mystical Wand of Watoomb.

One of them is the ability to glide – after launching themselves into the air, Peter and Miles can cover long distances without needing to keep using their webs. They can use aerodynamic tunnels scattered throughout New York to do so. Other than that, they have one exclusive skill tree each, making for three in total. We’ll gain many abilities known from the previous games as well as some entirely new ones, unique for each character, coming in handy in combat and during stealth. Miles, for example, can attach a string of web between two specific points, letting him get above enemies and take them out quietly – even two at a time if they position themselves correctly. Other skills include chaining lightning or releasing lightning bursts.

For NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU users, DLSS Ray Reconstruction is available. This technique uses an NVIDIA supercomputer-trained AI network that generates higher-quality pixels in between sampled rays, resulting in sharper and more accurate ray-traced images. Tombstone, another infamous villain, has traded in his leather jacket for a Coney Island carnie’s uniform (and yes, the rides are adorably fun). Much later in the game, Peter (and a wildly souped-up Harry Osborn) spring Tombstone from Kraven’s henchmen. The game opens with a battle against a super-sized Marko Flint, known as Sandman, as he towers above Midtown.

The story contains a number of unexpected twists, is very engaging, and boasts acting performances, full Russian dubbing, and a high level of scene direction, cinematographic and spectacular. There will also be plenty of impressions from encounters with supervillains. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 suffered a rocky PC launch, with many players feeling the port of the game paled in comparison to its console version. PC optimization has long been a tricky part of porting games, though Insomniac has worked to bring the PC version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 up to speed, making it a valid way to play for those who may not have a PlayStation 5. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is available to PC players on January 30, 2025 on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

The integration of Peter Parker and Miles Morales adds depth to the experience, making it a must-play for superhero fans despite minor shortcomings. The previous games were highly adored for accurate web swinging for traversal, and now with the addition of the Web Wings, exploration should be a lot more unique and even quicker without the need to swing all the time. Furthermore, both characters have distinct abilities, so it feels fresh to switch them up. Peter Parker’s symbiote black suit gives him unique abilities, while Miles places focus on his bio-electric skills. This makes the gameplay extensive, with higher replayability chances.
